This 1:6 Scale Figure utilizes the same updated fabric body glove that was first seen on 2010's 501st Legion Clone Trooper. Status: Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor) utilizes the Armored body type. It would be amazing.Ĭollector Notes Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor) Imagine how those characters could supplement the 1:6 Scale Figure line. Heck, even Medicom Toy had some issues with their phase I clone interpretations in their Real Action Heroes line.) Now that Sideshow has completed the clones from Episode II, we hope that they look to other phase I clone designs like the ARC Troopers and Captain Fordo. (Hasbro just couldn’t come close to mastering clones in their 12-inch figure line.

We’re extraordinarily happy to have five properly scaled and beautifully decorated phase I clone troopers finally in our collections. Imagine how incredible it would be to army build all of those unique armor designs? Finishing up the phase I clone troopers was really an obligatory gesture. And that reminds us that we would love to see Sideshow Collectibles go crazy with all of the various 501st Legion Troopers seen in season 4 of The Clone Wars television show.

Sideshow Collectibles is committed to producing phase II clones and their respective commanders and there even remains a commitment to bring us characters from The Clone Wars television show like they did with Captain Rex (501st Legion: Torrent Company) and even the Boil And Waxer With Numa set (which is one of their finest sets to date). But there doesn’t seem to be any signs of this trend slowing down. And we now have more clones than we probably ever thought we would own. The Militaries Of Star Wars line has taken off like wildfire. (For the record, we still love the earliest phase I clones, but it’s nice to have the issues remedied.)

You can rest assured that the captain is free from the flaws that have somewhat plagued earlier releases. There is no question that the entire design has gone through a clear and concise metamorphosis and Sideshow Collectibles made strides in ensuring the the sergeant and the captain didn’t experience the same issues. These also happened to be the first three released from Sideshow Collectibles. Hindsight is always 20/20, but it wasn’t until we shot a group photo of all the 1:6 scale clones that we realized just how loose the joints were on the plain white clone, the lieutenant and the commander. The Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor) receives high marks on all accounts. The hand attachments and the blasters are relatively identical from clone to clone, so truly the only surprises left are how much Sideshow Collectibles has updated the figure in terms of its functionality, authenticity and overall appearance. We want to get them all, but since they are essentially the same, save for some different battle damage and color flashes, there isn’t too much in the form of surprises. The Republic Clone Captain is the grand finale of phase I clones (at least the ones visible in Attack Of The Clones) and we couldn’t be happier to complete our army for our 1:6 Scale Figure collection.Īdmittedly, the clone troopers in the 1:6 Scale Figure line can become a little bit stagnant. The points of articulation are tight, the armor is well-fitted atop the spandex body glove and the final paint job is second to none. As with all figures in Sideshow’s line, the clone troopers get progressively better. We don’t see them in action during the beginning of the Clone Wars at the conclusion of Episode II. Both the Republic Clone Lieutenant (Phase I Armor) and the Clone Sergeant (Phase I Armor) can indeed be seen in Episode II, but we only see them waiting in line to pick up their helmets.

Theoretically, we only see the Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor), the Clone Commander (Phase I Armor) and the standard Republic Clone Trooper (Phase I Amor) in full garb in the film. The Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor) is another excellent display of public affection from Sideshow to their collector fan base, and it most importantly completes the lineup of all of the clone troopers seen in Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Sideshow Collectibles save their best phase I clone trooper officer for last.
